Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr., U.S. Congressional Candidate for District 23 in Florida, congratulates Presidential candidate John McCain for his strong showing in yesterday's Super Tuesday election. "Senator McCain continues to exhibit tenacity and compassion as he moves his 'Straight Talk Express' across the four corners of our Nation," states Dr. Thorpe. It should be noted that McCain, with a large lead in the delegate race, is unlikely to yield his front-runner status to Huckabee or Romney during the remaining Presidential Primaries.

Dr. Thorpe commends Barack Obama for weathering the "potholes and obstacles" that one must endure when campaigning against the Clinton political machine. "Senator Obama continues to make strides even on those occasions when both Bill and Hillary Clinton seek to knock him out of the race," states Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. It is noteworthy to acknowledge the fact that Dr. Thorpe's U.S. Congressional District 23 (CD 23) opponent, Alcee Hastings, has aggressively turned his back on fellow African-American Barack Obama. Of further note, Obama won the majority of Democrat votes in CD 23 during Florida's January 29th Presidential Primary election. Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. states, "This is yet another example of how tremendously out-of-touch Hastings is with the People of CD 23."

Dr. Thorpe is delighted by the numbers of Americans who are turning out to vote for the 2008 election cycle. When asked his thoughts on the eventual outcome of the 2008 Presidential Primaries, Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. responds as follows:

"On the Republican side, John McCain will rise to the challenge by uniting the Party's base and securing crossover voters and Independents.
On the Democrat side, the political rancor will likely become increasingly heated as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton butt heads. To say the least, the Democrat National Convention in Denver this summer will not be a safe place for meek and mild individuals."
