Summary
:
Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr., U.S. Congressional Candidate for Florida's 23rd District, calls upon Democrat National Committee (DNC) Chair Howard Dean to end Hillary Clinton's remarks concerning Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and President Lyndon B. Johnson.
Body
:
Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr., U.S. Congressional Candidate for District 23 in Florida, remains firmly fixed against racial disharmony and political race-baiting at a time in American history when our Nation continues to receive unwanted attention from terrorists groups. "Make no mistake about it, our diverse citizenry is our greatest American resource and our 'melting pot' mentality gives us our greatest strength as a Nation. The Clinton machine diminishes our strength and puts our Homeland Safety at risk by not stepping away from the King-Johnson race-baiting discussions that are designed to sway voters," states Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. It is Dr. Thorpe's firmest stance that Americans must remain united and not be lured into politically-based matters that are designed to divide the American public.

Dr. Thorpe is gravely concerned that terrorists groups may seize upon the opportunity to bring harm to our Homeland at the first hint of racial discord within America's multi-cultural landscape. "Though none of us knows the outcome of the 2008 Presidential election at this juncture, it is safe to say that the effectiveness of our next Commander-in-Chief will be greatly hampered if our Nation becomes polarized along racial lines during this election cycle," states Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr.

With the issuing of this news release, Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. calls upon Dr. Howard Dean, Chair of the Democrat National Committee, to put an immediate end to this brand of divisive politics. "Not only am I asking Dr. Dean to intervene, I also acknowledge the fact that my Congressional opponent, Alcee Hastings, has been mute at a time when true leadership is needed," explains Dr. Thorpe. Alcee Hastings, an African-American, is Hillary Clinton's National Campaign co-Chair.
