Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. announces P.E.A.C.E. initiative for Florida's 23rd Congressional District
West Palm Beach, Florida -

Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. announces his P.E.A.C.E. initiative for Florida's 23rd Congressional District. Dr. Thorpe states, "The very reasons that have led me to challenge 15-year incumbent Alcee Hastings for the Congressional District 23 (CD 23) seat can be found by better understanding my P.E.A.C.E. initiative." The Thorpe '08 campaign is firmly focused on emancipating the people of CD 23, many of whom presently experience unacceptable poverty and unemployment rates. "Now is the time for my brand of active leadership throughout Congressional District 23," says Dr. Thorpe.

By visiting www.marionthorpe.com/thorpe_for_congress_in_2008_ you can view the video of Dr. Thorpe announcing his monumental P.E.A.C.E. initiative. The P.E.A.C.E. initiative is best explained by outlining the letters of Dr. Thorpe's descriptive acronym. "The 'P' stands for Prosperity, the 'E' stands for Education, the 'A' stands for Access, the 'C' stands for Community, and the 'E' stands for Empowerment, explains Dr. Thorpe. Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. encourages you to visit www.marionthorpe.com/blogs to gain more knowledge about his P.E.A.C.E. initiative.

"Why the people of Congressional District 23 have been subjected to sub-par living standards for the past 15 years is beyond my comprehension. This Congressional District was specifically designed to provide African-American Congressional representation for the people of Palm Beach, Broward, Hendry, Martin, and St. Lucie counties; yet, sub-standard conditions have prevailed for far too long in CD 23," states Dr. Thorpe. The Thorpe '08 campaign directs all interested readers to www.marionthorpe.com/district_23_at_a_glance to note the fact that Congressional District 23 residents have essentially twice the likelihood of living below the federal poverty level and being unemployed as compared to national percentages posted by the United States Census Bureau.

Dr. Thorpe's P.E.A.C.E. initiative will directly resolve many of the ills facing residents of Congressional District 23 (FL), 55% of whom are African-American. "By initiating and maintaining Economic Empowerment for the people of Florida's 23rd Congressional District, there will be a simultaneous increase in prosperity, an increase in educational achievement, an increase in access to quality health care, and an increase in community standards of living for the people of District 23. 'A New Day, A New Way' is not merely a campaign slogan; but rather, it is a true indication of my determination to ensure a better way of life for people in CD 23."

Dr. Marion D. Thorpe, Jr. is the right man at the right time as people yearn for positive change in Florida's 23rd Congressional District. Dr. Thorpe encourages you to support his platform by joining the Thorpe '08 team.
